A quick one this month. I’ve been absolutely swamped lately, to the point where I haven’t even had time to start on the next Arbiter book. Disappointing, I know, but that’s what a new profession gets you, I suppose.
It’s been a while since we’ve had a Let’s Talk, so I’m back with one of my favourite topics: editing.
Firstly, thank you very much to everyone who attended the launch (whether in person or online), it was a great day and I was thrilled to see the turnout.
We had competitions, giveaways and generally a lot of fun.
Today, I’d like to have a chat about editing. It’s coming up a lot amongst my writer friends and I feel like it’s a helpful discussion topic. (And I think giving a break between each two postings of The Last Heir is a good idea, so expect that).
So I’d like to share some of my experience with different novel-writing styles. I’ve tried my hand at a couple and they’re always worth having a think about before getting stuck into a manuscript, especially if you’re looking to publish.
